Shredder does not start

At power up, we do not have the 2 green lights on.

The start button does not launch it.

The shredder is brand new. What is missing ?

Hello Pascal,

Did you check if everything is closed and correctly in place? (Hopper and filter screen in place, and interlock guard door closed)

This is Tim from 3D FilaPrint - we are having the same problem - shredder switches on and the fan comes on - but the 2 main lights are not illuminating.  The machine worked for a good 20 minutes beforehand.  We switched it off to clean - all seems to have been put back in place correctly.

We have followed the troubleshooting guide from start to finish, including the main interior switch under the hood, which was set correctly and also tested the fuse, which is ok, but still no luck, the shredder will not power up.

Any ideas what to do next?

Hi @billyboyclyde,

This problem could be caused by the inductive sensors. I have sent you a private e-mail with a manual on how to check this. I am not sharing it on here, because it explains a way to bypass the machine's safety mechanisms 😊 .

HI,

i have exactly same problem as described above. shredder all of sudden isnt starting. its almost new machine not  used more than 3-4 times max.

Hi,

I have almost the same issue.

I just received the shredder. I use it 1 hour (700 gr PLA)

But now it does'nt work anymore.

The two green light are ON.

I press the green button 1 second, it light on and the red button turn off. But the motor doesn't rotate. And the two green light are still ON.

Same with reverse button.

(I waited 1h, the motors seems totaly cool)

 

Any tips or action to know where is the problem ?

Thank you very much for this detailed explanation. 

I am very sory about this situation. That does not seem to be caused by the magnetic switches or the temperature, since both lights were green. 

This must be related to the inductive sensors.

Add another to the list. I am also having an issue with the shredder, same as above. Only the Current indicator is on. I haven't even used the machine yet.

Ive been having the same issues above, where all the lights turn on, and when I press the green button for more than one second, the motor turns on but seems that it is not turning the knives

Thank you very much for letting us know.

It seems that your situation is slightly different. The fact that both lights are green indicates that there should not be any sensor issue. 

I shared 2 guides with you by email, that should help us identify the cause. 

If I understand the situation correctly, it is possible that something got stuck in the knives and prevents the movement. I advise you to open the shredding compartment (as described in the link in the email) and look out for any small unexpected particle stuck near the blades. Taking out the filter screen is also a good idea. 

It would be great if you could report your findings to me. A short 5sec video of you trying to press the start button may help.

I checked the blades, but there were no particles that were stuck. I have attached a video of the issue to make it clearer.

sorry that I started a new topic. I only read the first post, where the lights did not came up so I thought, that it was a different problem. Now reading the end of this topic I see, that I have the exactly same problem. I uploaded my video in the other post.

Hello Mike wrote me an Email to send him the Video. It is not possible to send the video or any mail to him, because GMX and web.de can not deliver any mail to your Mail Accounts because of a SpamProtection system. could you check that please? The Video is also attached to my other post.
