ER13 - Hopper empty, system shutdown

The hopper is empty and prevented further damage to the extruder. Purge the system and ensure the extruder is safe!

It is unsafe to extrude without material in the hopper. Running the extruder empty could cause serious damage to the internals of the machine. The extruder has been shutdown to prevent further damage.

Steps to resolve

After this error occurs, the system has been shutdown completely and needs to be restarted, to continue extrusion of any kind. Follow the steps below to prevent further damage to the system:

  1. Restart the Filament Maker TWO, to be able to restart extrusion.
  2. Add at least 80 grams of purging material to the hopper.
    1. When working with temperatures above 320°C, add HighTemp purging material and perform a heavy purge.
    2. When working with temperatures between 180°C - 320°C, add MidTemp purging material and perform a standard purge.
  3. Ensure the extrusion system is properly purged and does not contain any other material that is unsafe to leave in the barrel for a longer period of time.
