ER10 - Failed to detect the hopper
The hopper detection sensor is a safety feature. Verify the sensor's correct behavior with the steps below.
The hopper contains a protective grid that prevents foreign objects to enter the screw of the Filament Maker TWO. If the hopper ring cannot be detected by the machine, this means it's unsafe to extrude. The system has been shutdown to prevent potential damage or injuries.
Steps to resolve
Please check if the hopper is securely and correctly mounted to the top of the Filament Maker TWO:
- Ensure the hopper sits nicely on the thread and can be turned easily, there should be little resistance. Keep turning until the hopper is correctly in place.
- Ensure the hopper is seated until it cannot be turned any further. Possible gaps between the hopper and the Filament Maker TWO casing could lead for the sensor to be unresponsive.
-
Check if the sensor can be engaged by hand. If the sensor fails to reach the hopper ring, the sensor pin may be bent carefully to ensure it is engaged by the hopper ring.
If the sensor fails to detect the hopper, while all installation steps above have been done correctly, the hopper sensor might be faulty or disconnected from the mainboard electronics. Please contact us to investigate the issue.
Hopper ring alternative
If you require the hopper to be removed explicitly, we offer an alternative ring to be installed to ensure the sensor is triggered. Downloaded and 3D print it here.
