Filament Maker X10 – Cleaning the Extrusion Area

Regular cleaning helps prevent polymer residue and dust from accumulating around the extrusion components.

⚠️ Important: Turn the Filament Maker X10 OFF and allow hot components to cool completely before cleaning.

Step 1 – Remove Remaining Filament

Remove any remaining filament from the extrusion area.

If necessary, carefully cut away filament using a clean, sharp tool such as pliers.

Step 2 – Clean the Extrusion Area

Use a soft, non-abrasive microfiber cloth and a chemical- and lotion-free cleaning solution to remove:

  • Polymer residue
  • Dust
  • Other contamination

Clean accessible components carefully without damaging cables, sensors, or other machine parts.

Step 3 – Inspect the Cooling Fans

Visually inspect the cooling fans for debris.

If debris is present, carefully remove it using a soft brush.

Keeping the fans clean helps maintain proper airflow and cooling performance.

🔥 Warning: Make sure the extrusion area is completely cool before beginning cleaning.
