Workstation Summary
Place the Filament Maker X10 on a stable and level surface:
- Height: 70–90 cm
- Length: Minimum 180 cm
- Width: Minimum 40 cm
The surface must be strong enough to support the machine and prevent unnecessary shaking, swaying, or other movement.
Ambient ConditionsFor optimal operation, operate the Filament Maker X10 within the recommended environmental conditions.
| Condition | Recommended range |
|---|---|
| Room temperature | 20–25°C |
| Relative humidity | 30–60% RH |
| Ventilation | Minimum 10 air changes/hour |
Operate the machine at approximately 20–25°C with a relative humidity of 30–60% RH.
Avoid environments with extreme temperature or humidity fluctuations.
Maintaining the recommended environmental conditions helps provide a stable operating environment for the machine and consistent extrusion results.
Avoid Direct SunlightKeep the Filament Maker X10 away from direct sunlight.
Direct sunlight can:
- Increase the temperature around the machine
- Expose the machine to UV radiation
- Affect the operating environment
- Interfere with Filament Sensor readings
The machine door glass is tinted to help reduce the influence of strong external light on the Filament Sensor.
VentilationThe Filament Maker X10 is intended for indoor use only.
The machine must be operated in a well-ventilated room capable of achieving at least:
10 air changes per hour (ACH)
For additional protection against emissions generated during polymer processing, we recommend using:
- A fume hood
- A mobile fume extraction system
- A suitable laminar flow cabinet
⚠️ Important: Different polymers can release different VOCs, particles, and decomposition products when heated. Always review the Safety Data Sheet (SDS/MSDS) for the material being processed and follow the applicable safety recommendations.
Before proceeding with installation, make sure:
- The machine has been safely removed from the packaging.
- The four pallet screws have been removed.
- The original packaging has been stored safely.
- The machine is positioned on a stable and level workstation.
- The workstation is strong enough to support the machine.
- The workstation is at the recommended height of 70–90 cm.
- The workstation is at least 180 cm long.
- The workstation is at least 40 cm wide.
- The machine is protected from direct sunlight.
- The room temperature is approximately 20–25°C.
- Relative humidity is approximately 30–60% RH.
- The room provides at least 10 air changes per hour.
- Suitable ventilation or fume extraction is available.
