Firmware version 0.4.1 - August 2026

This update improves torque monitoring and extrusion performance for the Filament Maker TWO.

Firmware v0.4.1 improves torque readings for both older machines with the old motor and current machines with the new motor.

For machines with the new motor, this update also resolves an issue that could cause false "Screw load too high" notifications.

The machine automatically detects which motor is installed, so no manual configuration is required.

Torque Monitoring Improvements

Torque monitoring has been improved to provide more accurate readings during extrusion.

The machine interface now displays:

• Current screw torque.
• Minimum torque.
• Maximum torque.

This makes it easier to monitor extrusion performance and identify potential material feeding issues or conditions that could cause the screw to stall.

Extrusion Improvements

Several improvements have been made to extrusion performance:

• Improved torque accuracy for both old and new motors.
• Fixed false "Screw load too high" notifications that could occur with the new motor.
• Increased the maximum selectable screw speed from 20 RPM to 30 RPM.
• Removed previous restrictions on motor strength at higher screw speeds.

Heater Improvements

Heater control has been improved for more stable and efficient heating.

This update also adds support for an additional thermocouple, including an error notification if the thermocouple cannot be read correctly.

Improved Machine Data

Additional information is now recorded for machine monitoring and troubleshooting, including:

• Minimum and maximum torque.
• Minimum and maximum motor load.
• Heatsink temperature.

Purge Preset Improvements

The default settings for the Low, Medium, High, and Super High Temp purge presets have been updated to provide improved starting settings.
