Optimization kit for Filament Maker TWO

This Optimization Kit has been designed to improve the reliability, accuracy, and overall extrusion quality of your machine. This package has been sent to you free of charge, to match your machine to the latest hardware specification. With these components, your Filament Maker TWO will perform more consistently and be easier to maintain.

This page will walk you through the purpose of each component and provide installation guidance. Each component has a link containing maintenance and installation procedures. An overview of the optimization kit contents:

Calibration kit

This new calibration kit is an improved version from the previous calibration kit that consists of four rods. This new kit is provided to calibrate the sensor more accurately.

Calibration rods A and B Perform the updated calibration procedure, before starting an extrusion experiment.

3mm "Long nozzle"

This new and improved nozzle design simplifies the nozzle change procedure and reduces the chance of leaking.

A "3mm long nozzle" and 3 gaskets Exchange the nozzle when your current nozzle system (adapter + short nozzle) has worn out. Learn how to replace the new long 3mm nozzle. Order additional "long nozzle" variants of 2mm and 4mm when required, via our contact sales form.

Filament stabilizer

This stabilizer is a new tool to improve the filament stability at the filament sensor. Filament can potentially move and wiggle by the cooling fans, compromising the sensor accuracy.

Place the stabilizer on the filament sensor plate, by following our dedicated instructions.

Tensioner spring

This new tensioner spring is tighter to improve the tensioner wheel grip on the filament when spooling. It can be exchanged, when extruding stiff materials.

Replace the spring with our dedicated maintenance instructions.
