The Filament Maker TWO requires to be maintained correctly, to guarantee its filament extruding capabilities and quality. Ensure to follow the maintenance schedule and instructions below to keep your machine in optimal condition.
Note: The maintenance schedule below is an indication, perform maintenance more frequently if you observe any unexpected wear and tear. Always ensure to follow the maintenance procedures with care and in a safe manner.

Every Filament Maker TWO comes equipped with a maintenance kit, equipped with the parts below.

Every extrusion (or when necessary) |
Purge the extrusion system | Keep the extrusion system clean by performing a purge with 3devo cleaning materials |
Clean the machine | Keep the Filament Maker TWO clean from polymer residue of any kind. | |
Every 3 months (or every 10 extrusion experiments) |
Check the nozzle | Check the nozzle visually for excessive residue. Replace the nozzle to prevent clogging and nozzle build-up. |
Check the nozzle cover | Replace the nozzle cover when it shows signs of heat damage to guarantee proper insulation. | |
Check the puller wheel | Replace the puller wheel when it shows signs of significant wear and tear damage. | |
Check the cooling fans | Brush any dust and polymer residue of the cooling fans that might impact the air flow. | |
Every year (or every 100 extrusion experiments) |
Clean and calibrate the filament sensor | Remove any stains from the sensor mirrors and calibrate it with the calibration kit. |
Lubricate the positioner axles | Apply sewing machine lubricant to the smooth positioner axle. |
